1. What we collect

To run Mello we collect the information you give us — your name, email, date of birth, city, profile details, and the events you create or join. If you complete identity verification (required to host events or join verified-only events), your government ID and selfie are processed by a third-party verification provider; we store the verification result, not the documents.

2. Location

Mello is a map-based app, so location is central to how it works. We use your device location to show nearby events and to place pins you create. Your precise live location is never shown to other users — only the event locations you choose to publish.

3. How we use it

We use your information to operate the product: showing events, connecting you with attendees, keeping the community safe (verification, thumbs, blocks and reports), and sending you service messages. We do not sell your personal data.

4. What other users see

Your profile (name, photo, interests, thumbs count, hosting history) is visible to other Mello users. Your email, date of birth, and verification documents are never visible to anyone.

5. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run Mello (hosting, identity verification, analytics), under contracts that limit their use of it, and with authorities when the law requires it.

6. Retention & deletion

You can delete your account from within the app at any time. When you do, your profile and content are removed from the product; some records (e.g. safety reports) may be retained where the law requires or permits it.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data, and object to certain processing, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Write to us and we'll help.
